Customistic started as a custom car decal shop long before we ever printed shirts. Back in 2002, Angie began designing and cutting vinyl decals from her Marine Corps barracks room, creating graphics for fellow Marines, personal vehicles, and even military helicopters. More than two decades later, vinyl decals are still one of our favorite things to make.

How to Install Your Vinyl Decal Like a Pro

Installing a vinyl decal is easier than you might think. Follow these simple steps for a clean, professional-looking finish.

This method works on cars, trucks, boats, windows, laptops, helmets, and most other smooth, non-porous surfaces.

Clean the surface. Wipe away any dirt, dust, wax, or moisture before you begin.
Position your decal. Carefully line it up exactly where you want it before applying pressure.
Apply with a squeegee. Work from one side to the other using firm, even pressure to remove air bubbles.
Remove the transfer tape. Slowly peel the transfer tape away at a sharp angle, leaving only the vinyl behind.
