Each year, Pantone releases a new color that is usually based heavily on social media and what is popular at the moment. This color usually sets the tone for trends in the upcoming year. Neutral, tone on tone colors are super popular in the media right now.
“Beige moms” (look it up if you don’t know what that is) are becoming increasingly popular on platforms like Tiktok, Instagram, and Facebook. They share their lives in their perfect houses with neutral colors. They paint their kids toys brown, grey, and white to match their aesthetic. Love it or hate it– you’re probably watching it. 😉
Almost no one was surprised when Pantone announced their color for 2025… Mocha Mousse!
Pantone describes Mocha Mousse as, “a warming, brown hue imbued with richness. It nurtures us with its suggestion of the delectable qualities of chocolate and coffee, answering our desire for comfort.”
We said it in a previous blog about the 2023 Pantone Color Of The Year, but any print shop who does not know this color or doesn’t have a pantone book is a shop that you should run away from as fast as you possibly can.
We’re not kidding. Put on your Hoka running shoes (not sponsored) and sprint. It’s one of the most basic things for any type of ~designer~ to know. Pantone is basically in our bloodline. Our team here at Customistic is super passionate about color and achieving that perfect hue that matches your brand in every print we create.
Do you know nothing about your brand colors and need some help? Our magical t-shirt ninja fairies are happy to help you pick out your perfect color using our Pantone book.
What is a Pantone book?
…
WE WERE HOPING YOU WOULD ASK THAT! It’s almost like we baited you into it.
A Pantone book is like a color lover’s dream come true! It’s a collection of color swatches, each with a unique code, and it’s used by designers, printers, and anyone working with color to make sure they get the perfect shade every time.
Pantone is famous for its color matching system, and these books help ensure consistency across different media, whether you’re designing a logo, printing t shirts (wink wink), choosing paint colors, or printing a brochure.
The swatches are organized in neat little pages, each with a precise color name and code, so it’s super easy to find and communicate the exact color you want. It’s really helpful because sometimes colors can look different depending on the screen, lighting, or material, and the Pantone book makes sure everyone is on the same page.
Think of it like a universal color translator, helping creatives (just like us) bring their colorful visions to life! This also means that we can help YOU bring your branding colors to life.

Mocha Mousse and the “beige mom” aesthetic has already been making it’s way around the media but we still see it more and more throughout 2025.
Popular celebrities like Selena Gomez and Beyonce are already repping the latest trendy color at award shows. We have no way of confirming that their designers were influenced by the color of the year, but the chances are super high.
Remember that scene from The Devil Wears Prada? There is a scene about how cerulean (2000’s Color of the Year) became popular in high fashion, and then showed how it trickled down in the next few years to affordable consumer products.
History is repeating itself here. This color is being shown on A-List celebs and luxury brands at the start of the year which means we will start seeing more affordable brands carry it later this year as well.
In fact, we will bet on it! Call us out in the fall if you don’t see this color popping up around stores in fall/winter 2025. We dare you.
Speaking of us, we think you should definitely try incorporating this color into your brand colors this year. Do a special run and see what kind of feedback you get! We aren’t kidding when we say this color is trendy.
Popular brands like the Comfort Colors 1717 recently released a color called “Espresso” (shoutout to our girl Sabrina) that people have been loving.
AS Colour followed suite and released their popular 5001 tee in a color called “Walnut.” Both are very similar to Mocha Mousse, really showing that brands are acting quickly to stay trendy and relevant.
Remember, releasing a new color for a blank apparel brand isn’t a decision made lightly. It takes time, research, and a significant investment of resources. These brands aren’t just choosing trendy colors for fun—they’re responding to market demand, which means staying relevant and keeping customers excited. To stay relevant– you gotta stay trendy!
So, if you want to stay on the cutting edge, consider incorporating Mocha Mousse into your branding strategy this year. Trendy colors can help keep your brand fresh and in the spotlight! BE DIFFERENT!
Most importantly, don’t forget that we are here to help… and print. 😉
